Australian actress Margot Robbie: Facts and photos of the Blockbuster sensation
After an appearance on the cover of the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Margot Robbie was named the Face of the Year 2015 by the British modelling magazine. The 23-year-old, is currently promoting her latest film “The Wolf of Wall Street”, the third production of which she starred as the leading lady. The film is scheduled for release on August 4.
Robbie will play the titular role in the film about the rise and fall of Wall Street stockbroker Jordan Belfort. She portrays Belfort’s daughter, Violet, an aspiring actress. In the course of the film, Robbie will act out of character by assuming the role of a female vampire. This role requires the actress to put on a mask and a cape, and wear what looks like a black and white wig.
Robbie was born on June 13, 1991 in London. Her interest in acting began at the age of 4, when her father took her to London’s Royal Albert Hall for a concert of classical music.
After graduating from the Oxford College of Arts and Philosophy, Robbie received her first taste of acting through a small part in the movie “The Royal Tenenbaums”, where she played an aspiring model.
She began her acting career in television, before being cast for her role in the romantic drama series “Downtown Abbey”. In the show, she portrayed Anna Poulet, a young woman whose love for her brother’s fiance (played by Robert De Niro) led her to fall into various romantic situations.
On the strength of this role, Robbie became a regular on the hit series “L.A. Law” where she was a law student. She graduated from law school and moved on to act in the movie “The Fighter”, which was released in March of 2015, and gained her a role in the TV series “Chicago Hope”, as one the lead roles of “Lucy”.
After this, Robbie played the lead actress in the Hollywood musical drama series “Masters of Sex”, which was released on Netflix in the same month of 2015
