Selma Blair departs ‘Dancing with the Stars’ over health concerns related to MS

She leaves the show after the judges have selected their next act, but then has to leave the competition too.
After the third season of “Dancing with the Stars” concluded, it came to be known that actress/singer and former “Dancing” contestant Selma Blair had been admitted to a Los Angeles hospital for a check up amid the concerns of her being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS).
“We are very sorry to have to announce to the public that our beloved star Selma Blair has been admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles for tests related to her MS condition. She will remain with family at the hospital for the next 24 hours for further treatment. We’re very grateful to all of the media outlets that have been covering this with us for the last month and a half. Thank you all for your kindness and understanding in this difficult situation. We love you all very much, Selma and the entire Blair family,” a statement from “Dancing” producers read.
After the news came to light, the 42-year-old singer-actress said that she hoped her health would not be an issue for the show and she would try her best till the finale to continue with the rest of the competition.
“I am taking this news very well. I have had MS and it has been a long journey of hope and faith to get to this point of feeling 100%,” Blair said in a statement issued by publicist Kelly Rabinovitch. “I plan to continue on my journey for as long as I am able. I am incredibly grateful to the millions of fans who have supported me throughout this journey,” she added.
A few days back, it was reported that Blair would not be able to join the rest of her co-stars for their finale, which aired on May 2.
