LAX, Calif., January 15, 2019 — Frieze, an art fair founded in 2000 and now in its 15th year, has announced plans for its 20th annual event at Santa Monica Airport, to be held September 7-12, 2023. At last year’s fair, the airport hosted more than 15,000 visitors, with more than 200,000 online visitors. This year, the anticipated fair will feature a record-breaking 10,000 artists and 2,000 artisans from around the globe, and include an array of activities including four concurrent exhibitions from the likes of MOCA, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the Museum of Contemporary Art/LA and the LA County Museum of Art. The event will be Frieze’s largest yet, making it one of the top-tier art fairs in the world.

“Frieze is always exploring new possibilities for our fair, and this year we’re focused on giving LAX more art,” said Scott Brown, founder and CEO of Frieze, “While the fair will focus exclusively on art from the Pacific Rim, this year we’ll be bringing artists and artists who have something to say and not just the usual, run-of-the-mill art fair fare. Our guests will be welcomed with a range of art fair events, including pop-up installations, live music and pop-ups, live art, interactive art, special art installations, art walks and even a dog walk.”

The fair will be held at both Terminal 2 at LAX, and Terminal 1 at LAX (formerly Terminal 3) starting at 12
